It was the usual Wednesday at the office. Matt the new guy from Purchasing just invited me and one other Sales Manager for lunch. He wanted to try out that new Japanese restaurant over by the marina. It was going to be a 10-minute drive from the office to the venue but the restaurant has been getting raves about their salmon sushi and fresh, hand rolled maki selections so I guess it was worth the trip.
A little over 1030 am I got a call from one of our suppliers. Linda, I think her name was. We always collaborated over emails and met twice during one of those corporate mixers that my boss always sent me to. She said she was going to drop by the office for a quick meeting. She wanted to show me some new items that she thinks our company will be interested in. I said sure and since I had time on my hands, a nice meeting will be fine.
She arrived a little over 11am. She made great time and I asked her how she did it. I know that their head office was in the other side of town. She said she was doing sales calls today and thought to drop by my office to see us. She gave me a sample of a promotional notepad with calculator. I was actually looking for one of those the other week when the marketing director mentioned that it was time for our annual brainstorming sessions. Linda's promotional notepad with calculator may just be the thing that I need to bring up during one of those sessions. I mean my clients are school principals and teachers and I know that they always like to get free office supplies.
It was just a regular Wednesday but I scored a free gift called promotional notepad with calculator and I got a new idea that will hopefully please the bosses. Now off to lunch for some of that delicious sushi.
